AFRICAN MUD CLOTH is an even count peyote stitch, beaded bangle band pattern that was designed to fit a wood bangle blank as shown in the photos. It is beaded flat and then zipped right onto the bangle that you have finished to your own liking. These bangles come to you unfinished which means you will be giving them a light sanding and staining then or painting them to your liking before you add the beaded band. You can find these wood bangle bands here: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/289078541/5pcs-round-wood-bracelet-unfinished
In the sample shown, I did the following:
1. I lightly sanded the bangle to make sure it was nice and smooth.
2. I stained it with an Espresso wood stain and let it dry.
3. I used a paste floor wax to lightly wax the wood which gave it a nice soft glow.
4. I zipped the beaded band onto the wood bangle and have been wearing it for six years.
